Lima Municipal Court Divorce Records
A divorce record is a family law document related to a marital dissolution case involving married parties. Under Ohio law, the Lima Municipal Court does not oversee family law disputes, such as divorce. This role is filled by the Allen County Court of Common Pleas, Domestic Relations Division. The court's jurisdiction also includes legal separation and child custody.
The Allen County Clerk of Courts maintains divorce-related case documents. Anyone can freely view or duplicate final divorce decrees and general court dockets in person, although divorce case information may not appear online, per Ohio Rev. Code § 2303.12(D)(2).
Before court staff allows a requester to view a divorce record, they first remove or redact non-public records, such as domestic violence reports, child custody agreements, and financial disclosure statements.
